Every year, members of the different Christian Churches in Ashhurst celebrate the Risen Lord - Oh Six Thirty Easter Sunday Morning, usually on a hillside overlooking Ashhurst - looking east toward the Ruahine Ranges to see the sunrise
our SON RISE service
It is a sacrifice to be there when the dawn is often so cold, but it is well worth the effort, with a view of the sunrise like the image below - Easter 2009.
We place an old rugged wooden cross to provide the symbol of the an 'empty cross' - Christ crucified, died, risen. It is a good service with songs, readings and periods of silence. It can be cold, so wrap up warmly.
So why not plan to come and celebrate "He is risen!" with us anyway ! You would be very welcome.

But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the Father. Luke 22:69
